A life in BBC News revealed in new lecture series

With a career spanning over 30 years, the University’s Chancellor Reeta Chakrabarti will introduce a lecture entitled ‘From the frontline to the studio: A life in BBC News’. Reeta will be joined by fellow BBC News presenter Ben Brown, who will share his insights as one of the BBC’s longest-serving journalists.

As a frontline journalist and war correspondent, Ben has reported from over 40 countries worldwide and helped to bring several significant historical events to our screen including the fall of the Berlin Wall, 9/11, the Boxing Day Tsunami and the Rwandan genocide.

Reeta became York St John University’s Chancellor in 2019 and is the ceremonial head of the University: acting as chief ambassador, presiding over ceremonial functions and conferring degrees at our graduation ceremonies. This is the first in a series of annual Chancellor lectures to be held at York St John.
