Charity lunch hosted at a newly opened Leeds Garden Centre

Tingley Garden Centre, the sister site of Tong Garden Centre, welcomed over 80 guests for a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust ‘Lunch and Learn’ event that raised over £650 for the charity.

The guests enjoyed a light lunch in Blooms Restaurant before Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s Volunteering Manager, Marie Fooks and BUD Project Manager, Sarah Goldsmith gave a talk about wildlife gardening.

“Thanks so much to the team at Tong for hosting a delicious lunch in beautiful surroundings. We had a great mix of volunteers, members and corporate supporters and everyone really enjoyed it,” said Amy Warner, fundraising manager at the Trust.

“It was great to welcome Yorkshire Wildlife Trust to Blooms at Tingley for an interesting and informative session about wildlife gardening, which is a subject that we’re passionate about at both Tong and Tingley,” said Tingley Garden Centre MD, Mark Farnsworth.

Tingley Garden Centre occupies an 11-acre site and has been designed to make the most of the natural landscape and developed with sustainability in mind, with air source heating, a solar array, a rainwater harvesting tank and 50 electric vehicle charging points.

Tong and Tingley Garden Centres are owned by the YGC Group which recently acquired two Stephen H Smith garden centres on Harden and Otley.
