EE switches on 5G in three more places in Yorkshire

On 8th April, EE switched on 5G in three more places in Yorkshire – among 35 new towns and cities across the UK to get connected to its 5G network.

Barnsley, Harrogate and York are the latest places in the county to receive the service through EE, with 18 places now connected in total across the Yorkshire and The Humber region.

The mobile network operator has today added outdoor 5G coverage to some of the UK’s most popular tourist landmarks, historical sites, and coastal locations as lockdown restrictions start to ease and attractions begin to reopen from next week.

Attractions and landmarks that will receive 5G outdoor coverage include York Minster and York Museum Gardens in York; Wentworth Castle Gardens in Barnsley; and Killinghill Moor Country Park in Harrogate.

Residents, businesses and visitors in 160 UK towns and cities can now benefit from the fast speeds, low latency and increased reliability of EE’s 5G network, with the technology today switched on in:
