New appointment further strengthens Pearsons & Ward Solicitors Family Department

Pearsons & Ward Solicitors are delighted to announce the appointment of experienced Paralegal Rachel Newsome to their Family Department.

Rachel is the latest appointment for Pearsons & Ward, now part of Ware & Kay Solicitors Ltd which also has offices in York & Wetherby. Rachel will be based at the Malton office and serve clients across Ryedale and East Yorkshire.

Rachel started her career in the legal profession in 1996 in West Yorkshire moving to Ryedale in 2009 before commencing work at Pearsons & Ward as a Paralegal in 2012, having completed the Central Law Training Specialist Paralegal Qualification in Family Law. She then left in 2016 to gain experience with another local firm before starting a family and is now returning to work. She advises and has in-depth experience of the Divorce process, in relation to financial settlements including contested cases and in children cases. She will also advise couples on prenuptial, postnuptial and cohabitation agreements.

This appointment is a further boost for Pearsons & Ward and Rachel’s arrival means the residents of Malton and the outlying towns will have even more direct access to a high level paralegal specialising in family issues.

Rachel said, “I was brought up in North Yorkshire but moved to Ryedale in 2009 having close connections to friends. I am also actively involved with different networking groups in the local community and know many people in the area. The process of separating or divorcing can be complex, confusing and overwhelming for many, and having empathy and trying to appreciate what your client is going through is essential to being effective. My aim will be to take a sensible and pragmatic approach and guide them through that process to the other side, allowing them to move forward in life.
