Partnership Opportunity – Raise your Community Profile

Staying Put is a sexual and domestic abuse charity. (charity No. 1116162) We support anyone who has suffered abuse of any kind in their recovery journey. Our service users, it has to be said, are mostly women; sexual abuse is a gendered issue, but we do have 5 males, currently residing in one of our properties.

We are the lead providers in Bradford Council’s ‘Survive and Thrive’ consortium, the main (and statuary) vehicle to support abuse victims. We manage two refuges and Bradford, two in Keighley and 11 other dispersed properties and it’s still not enough. In the current financial year, we have taken over 11,000 calls, received 600+ referrals and are currently caring for 539 families, including 402 children.

In order to try and solve the relative lack of safe accommodation, we’re on a journey towards becoming a registered Social Landlord. It’s a lengthy and costly journey, but, if we’re successful, we’ll be able to purchase properties and use the rent and government allowances to reinvest into the charity, its staff and its services.

To do that we need to raise finance of course, but we don’t just want to ask for cash. We’re interested in establishing long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with business. We know the majority of businesses want to put something back into the communities they serve and we believe we can help you to demonstrate that.

We have, for example, purchased some charity race packs for The Jane Tomlinson series of events. That means that we pay your registration, we set up a giving page for you on their website, and we provide a nice T-Shirt and you raise some sponsorship for us by running the Race – then we all get great photographs to publicise your success! Currently we’re looking at the 10k and Marathon events.

If you would be interested in helping us to help others, or even if you’d just like to help in another way, please do drop me a line or call.
