Road naming to round off Bolton Woods development

Incommunities’ is delighted with news that a road on one of its latest affordable homes developments in the city will be named after its long standing board member and former Council leader, Ian Greenwood.

Forty family-sized homes for rent are being built on the site of a cleared housing site at Bolton Woods.

A road onto the development will be named ‘Ian Greenwood Way’. Ian was an Incommunities’ Group Board member for a number of years. In 2018 he was elected Ward Councilllor for Bolton and Undercliffe before sadly passing away later in the year. He had previously served as a Councillor for Little Horton for over 17 years.

The road naming was approved by the Council’s Shipley Area Committee last week.

The Bolton Woods phase 2 development, off Livingston Road, will be a mix of two and three bedroom homes using timber framed construction, with some built as three storey houses.

Each home will have their own electric charging point and individual parking spaces. They also feature fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms. Bird and bat boxes will be fitted to the properties to ensure local wildlife flourishes in the area.

Twenty-four homes for rent were completed in at Bolton Woods in 2019 as part of phase one.

The £5.6 million development is being supported through Homes England’s Affordable Homes Programme and is due to be completed in the Summer.

Incommunities in-house development team are acting as the main contractor for the construction of the properties.

Over the next two years, Incommunities has ambitious plans to complete over 250 affordable homes ready for local homehunters and over 1000 properties by 2025.
