Watson Buckle makes a donation of gifts to Bradford’s Neonatal unit

Dozens of gifts collected by staff at Watson Buckle Chartered Accountants over the festive period have been donated to Bradford Royal Infirmary’s Neonatal unit.

Throughout advent, the company held a reverse advent calendar at its offices, where instead of receiving a daily gift, staff made donations of their own to Bradford’s Neonatal unit.

Watson Buckle has raised thousands of pounds for the Neonatal unit during 2019 via the Bradford Hospitals Charity, its chosen charity of the year.

Nurses and staff on the unit were delighted to receive the gifts, which included children’s books, muslin cloths, cutlery, and other baby supplies, alongside a cash donation.

The decision to raise money for the Neonatal unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary was made after Director, Gillian Craven and her husband, experienced the unit’s care first-hand in 2018 when their son Rafe was born three months early, and was looked after by its dedicated team.

Gillian and Rafe visited the unit just before Christmas to make the donation and meet the staff members that helped them during Rafe’s stay.

Gillian said: “We were delighted to see the team once again at Bradford Royal Infirmary and thank them for all that they have done for Rafe and our family. Our team at Watson Buckle got behind the reverse advent calendar and we had some fantastic donations for the unit, I am forever grateful for all of their support for the charity.”
