William Birch strengthen their board

Chris Birch, Chairman of William Birch and Sons Ltd, the York-based construction, refurbishment and restoration business, has announced that Ben Thomson has joined the Board of Directors as Commercial Director, and David Kilvington has joined the Board of William Birch Holdings Ltd as a non-Executive Director.

Ben joined the business in 2011 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and has progressed his career to Managing Surveyor and, most recently, Commercial Manager. His new appointment as Commercial Director will see him responsible for the sustainable commercial growth of the business as well as continuing to manage a team of quantity surveyors across the company’s operating areas.

David Kilvington was founding partner of Hawkswell Kilvington, Wakefield-based construction lawyers and before that he was National Head of Construction at Irwin Mitchell; He brings extensive construction industry expertise to the William Birch Holdings Ltd business with part of his role offering focused support to our construction activities in minimising risk within our future projects.

Chris Birch said: “Both appointments are a reflection of the business strategy to grow and develop talent in the business whilst bringing in fresh ideas and enhancing our risk management approach to our customers’ assets.
