Leeds Beckett announces new partnership with Landsec

Leeds Beckett University has partnered with Landsec, one of the UK’s leading real estate companies, to launch two new scholarships for two first-year students this September.
These prestigious scholarships will be awarded to two students: one studying BSc Real Estate and Property Management and one studying BA Architecture. The partnership aims to support and empower the next generation of talent in these crucial sectors. The recipients of the scholarships will not only receive financial assistance in their studies but also gain invaluable opportunities and industry insight.

Each of the scholarships is worth £30, 000 and are the first of their kind for Leeds Beckett University. The aim is to put a spotlight on the importance of supporting individuals studying subjects in such competitive sectors.

Landsec builds and invests in buildings and spaces to create sustainable places, connect communities, and release potential. As one of the largest real estate companies in Europe, Landsec’s portfolio is a diverse mix of retail and leisure that includes White Rose and Trinity Leeds.

Steven Foster, Centre Director at both White Rose and Trinity Leeds said: “Investing in those already creating opportunities for local people means we can bring more value to the communities we serve where it’s needed most.

“Through our Bursary Programme, we’ll support more people from underrepresented backgrounds, working with young people to support their university course and provide the option of mentoring from Landsec staff, so that everyone can fulfil their potential.”

Paul Hallam, Course Director at Leeds Beckett University’s School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing said: “I am absolutely delighted that a BSc (Hons) Real Estate and Property Management student at Leeds Beckett University will have the opportunity to benefit from the newly established Landsec scholarship.

“This is an incredible opportunity for a student to receive funding, support and mentorship from Landsec, who are one of the largest commercial property developers and real estate investors in the UK. This scholarship will be of undoubted benefit to their studies, supporting their development in the real estate industry and we are very excited to be working with Landsec to support our students.”

Sarah Mills, Head of Subject at Leeds School of Architecture said: “We are delighted that a student on BA (Hons) Architecture will receive funding, support and mentorship via the new Landsec Bursary Programme. This long-term financial support for an architecture student will undoubtedly benefit their development in architecture.

“Imagination, commitment to excellence, and participation in a supportive network can change the landscape of the profession and future of the built environment. Leeds School of Architecture is very excited to be planning a range of on-going activities working with Landsec.”

Students who are eligible for these new scholarships will be automatically flagged on enrolment and applications will open shortly after the beginning of first semester.
